Free for beeks and non beeks alike. Non beekeepers can report a swarm, and beekeepers can sign up for alerts on nearby swarms. The Monroe County Beekeepers Association does not handle the removal of swarms, however some of our club members do. https://beeswarmed.org/
$10/ year licensing fee to register your apiary with the PADoA. This will add you to the pesticides sensitivity list, so you will get notified if there is spraying in your area. The Department of Agriculture will also contact you if there are outbreaks of EFB and AFB near your apiary, and may also contact you to schedule an inspection with one of the State Bee Inspectors.
If you discover symptoms of EFB or AFB, or other severe issues in your apiary, feel free to contact:
Randy Sickler, our local State Inspector

Beekeeping is hyper local, and you cant trust everything you see online.... That being said, there are some good, free, educational resourced that can be found online. Here are some of our club members favorites.
Slow paced but high quality long form episodes that cover a wide range of beekeeping topics. He is based out of western PA but many of the topics and methods apply well to NEPA beekeeping. https://www.youtube.com/@FrederickDunn
Very much a farmers youtube channel. JC makes do with what he has, and is always willing to try and experiment with new products and ideas. He is based out of central Ohio, however his approach to beekeeping will bring similar success to you, here in Monroe County https://www.youtube.com/@JCsBees/videos
This is an older channel that used to host a beekeeping livestream show. Based out of Monroe County, there are many valuable topics covered on this channel. https://www.youtube.com/@mitefight3515
Bob is a true beekeeper through and through, he presents information in a calm and thorough manner. He is a commercial beekeeper managing hundreds of colonies in Georgia, so the timing of when he manages his hives is different than our schedule in Monroe County. That being said, his channel is far too educational and interesting to leave off this list just because of a difference in climate. https://www.youtube.com/@bobbinnie9872
Jim is a fun and creative beekeeper based out of Vermont. His season starts about a month after ours, and wraps up about a month sooner. He loves to experiment and modify his standard lLngstroth equipment to better handle the challenges his bees face in the Vermont climate. https://www.youtube.com/@vinofarm
